Is it all in my head or do I actually have the gift?

The number one question that is constantly in my head - Do I actually have the gift or is this something that my brain is making up?  Its one of those things that makes you go insane with self doubt and the constant overthinking of your brain - its a wonder why there are so many confused people out there.

I suppose for me - my brain is too practical and wants to test the evidentiary reaction - I know that I can sense something in the corner of my eye, but unless I can physically see it with my own two eyes - then it is not true.  Damn you brain for being too analytical and scientific - yes I want evidence to support it, not just this gut feeling of what I think may or may not be happening.  Give me something concrete to validate it.  That is where the self trust in yourself and the belief that you are not just one of those charlatans wanting to fleece the next sucker that comes your way , crossing your palm with silver as they pass along.

Don't fret, everyone who goes on this journey has the exact feeling.  Its not like you have a handbook that is handed to you at birth with the set instructions on your gifts - same as parenting - you just have to trust your gut.  Not everyone is going to experience the same thing as how you see it etc.

Its about developing your gifts with the best of knowledge that you have at hand, whether this is reading books, being involved in a spiritual group that opens your gifts or just trusting in what your guides are leading you towards.  One piece of advice - if you are going to go to workshops - make sure that you learn from different people - 'free will' allows you to experience learnings from many people to give you a holistic approach.  Believe me, when "teachers" forbid you to learn from others - that is a cult and they are only after your money.  If you have a teacher or mentor that promotes other people to learn from - those are the ones that have your best intention at heart.  After all, as stated before - people experience or interpret things differently from each other - I may see a bird in a tea leaf reading because that is what my guides are telling me to focus on (whether the message that is coming through is for you, me or some random person) but another person who reads the same tea cup may see a frog for example - again it is what their guides or intuition is focusing on.  Combining the two - allows you to have the message of both the frog and the bird that just may make more sense to you as to what your guides are telling you or spark a memory of a past loved one.

Learn to sit in the present and don't fight your brain when it moves away from the task at hand.  I get it - it is hard when you have ADHD and am a chronic thinker - yes that is my brain - always on.  I find it hard to meditate as my brain goes into overdrive, trying to remember the theme song from Little House of the Prairie, when it should just be in the zen moment.  That is my battle to have and I find that if you concentrate on the music, it can help with the quietening of the brain - or just acknowledge it like a child who is late for school and cannot find its red crayon when they should be in the car on the way to school.  The red crayon is not important right now, the time to go to school is!

That's my two cents worth.
